Andrew Scott (born 21 December 1967) is a British entrepreneur and business advisor. He is the founder of the Ascot Group, which operates in marketing, technology, and property sectors. Scott is also recognised for his philanthropic work and contributions to UK business development.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Scott was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. During his childhood, he survived the Abercorn Restaurant bombing, which left him hospitalised for several years. At 18, he moved to London, beginning his career in business.[1]
Career
[edit]Scott started his first business at the age of 19. In 1998, he led the turnaround of a struggling manufacturing company, increasing its annual revenue from £1 million to £12 million within four years. The company was later sold to Masco Inc.[2]
In 2004, he established Purplex Marketing, initially as a consultancy. Over two decades, it evolved into a global marketing agency and became part of the Ascot Group, which employs approximately 100 staff.[3]
In 2013, Scott founded Business Leader Magazine, which he sold to entrepreneur Richard Harpin in 2023.[4]

In 2017, he received the Institute of Directors (IoD) Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in the South West.[11]
Personal Life
[edit]Scott resides in Weston-super-Mare. He famously restored an old BMW, which he once lived in during a challenging time in his career.[12]
