The 1999 Texas A&M Aggies football team represented Texas A&M University as a member of the Big 12 Conference. Led by eleventh year head coach R. C. Slocum, the Aggies finished the season with an overall record of 8–4, going 5–3 in Big 12 play to finish in a three-way tie for second in the conference's South Division. The team played home games at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.

A week before the game, the annual Aggie Bonfire collapsed, killing 12 people and injuring another 27.[2] The respective marching bands dedicated their halftime performances to those lost and injured in the collapse.[3]
