[edit]"Erm what the sigma" is a satirical internet phrase that was made in 2023. The phrase was originally used in an online video of a person doing an Impression of Squidward Tentacles from the TV show SpongeBob Squarepants. The phrase was originally meant to make fun of "brainrot" an internet slang word for poorly made an rushed content made for young children. The phrase eventually became used as part of the collection of internet slang called "Brainrot Words".
