Early Life and Education

Abu Shahed Emon was born in Bangladesh and pursued a bachelor's degree in psychology at Dhaka University. His passion for film developed during his involvement with the Dhaka University Film Club, which led him to further studies in film at the University of Wisconsin, Sydney Film School, and RMIT, under several scholarships[6]>

Career

Emon's directorial debut, Jalal's Story, was highly acclaimed and chosen as Bangladesh's official Oscars submission in 2016.[7]. His other significant works include Sincerely Yours, Dhaka [8]>, and No Ground Beneath the Feet [9]>, each reflecting his flair for blending profound social messages with engaging narratives. Sincerely Yours, Dhaka was also the first Bangladeshi anthology film to be featured on Netflix > and was chosen as Bangladesh's official entry to the 2021 Oscars‘ international feature film category [10]> His produced film "No Ground Beneath the Feet" has been officially submitted as Bangladesh's entry for the International Feature Film category at the 96th Academy Awards.
