Angus Wing Hang Yip (Chinese: 葉榮鏗) is a Hong Kong-based ESG consultant, academic, and former corporate banker and asset manager.[1] He is the Founding Chairman of the International Chamber of Sustainable Development (ICSD)[2] and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong's Institute for China Business and SPACE[3]. Angus Yip focuses on promoting sustainable development via his NGO, research and ESG education.[4] He has also contributed to adult education with years of part-time teaching in banking and finance at various universities and banks across Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China.[5]

Career

Corporate Banking and Asset Management

Angus Yip has years of experience in corporate banking and asset management, working on corporate lending, trade finance, and discretionary asset management for high-net-worth clients.[18]

Teaching and Academia

Angus Yip is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Institute for China Business, Hong Kong University, where he teaches in the Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated and Practicing Management program.[19] His teaching areas include corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, banking, and finance. He has been teaching Certified Financial Planning courses since 2000 at HKU SPACE.[20]

ESG and Sustainability Consulting

Since 2015, Angus Yip has provided ESG reporting and consultancy services to listed companies in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.[21] His consultancy focuses on ESG reporting compliance and sustainable development strategies.

Contributions to ESG

International Chamber of Sustainable Development (ICSD)

In 2022, Angus Yip founded the International Chamber of Sustainable Development (ICSD) to address ESG challenges faced by organizations.[22] The ICSD launched an ESG certification program and CEPAR model, which have been adopted by enterprises to enhance their sustainability practices.[23]

World Green Organisation (WGO)

Since 2018, Yip has served as an ESG Advisor to the World Green Organisation, promoting sustainable practices and climate awareness.[24]

Acknowledgement

Angus Yip works on sustainable development and ESG education by setting up ICSD and publishing research.[30] In 2017, he received the "Outstanding Teacher Award" from SPACE, the University of Hong Kong.[31] Angus Yip is also the Council Member of the HKU SPACE Alumni Association.[32] In addition, he established HKU SPACE Financial Planning Alumni Society.[33] Angus Yip is Life Member of Hong Kong Institute of Bankers,[34] Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Directors Association,[35] the Harvard Club of Hong Kong[36] and the Cambridge Union.[37]
