Athulya Chandra (born 11 March 1994) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. She made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Ganagandharvan (2019) and is known for her performances in films such as Mathu Vadalara (2019), Trip (2021), and Gulu Gulu (2023).[1][2][3][4]
Early life and education
[edit]Athulya Chandra was born on 11 March 1994 in Changanassery, Kottayam, Kerala, India. She attended Good Shepherd Public School for her early education and completed her higher secondary schooling at St. Mary’s Convent College, Ramnee, in Nainital. She pursued a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (B.A. LL.B. Hons.) at Kurukshetra University. During her legal studies, she interned with senior advocate B. Raman Pillai and Associates at the Kerala High Court.[5]
Career
[edit]Athulya Chandra began her career with a 2019 advertisement for Kerala Tourism, gaining initial recognition. Her acting debut came the same year in the Malayalam film Ganagandharvan, where she appeared alongside Mammootty.[1] She subsequently starred in the Telugu thriller Mathu Vadalara, which brought her wider acclaim.[2]
In 2021, Athulya played the female lead in the Tamil adventure-comedy Trip.[3] In 2022, she appeared in the Malayalam thriller Innale Vare.[6] Her most recent role was in the Tamil comedy-drama Gulu Gulu (2023), co-starring with Santhanam.[4]

Personal life
[edit]Athulya Chandra was born and raised in Changanassery, Kerala. She later moved to Nainital for her higher secondary education and subsequently to Haryana for her legal studies at Kurukshetra University. These experiences across different regions of India have shaped her personality and given her exposure to diverse cultures, making her fluent in multiple languages.
Athulya has a passion for acting and martial arts and is currently training in mixed martial arts (MMA). She has also worked with advocates at the Kerala High Court, reflecting her interest in community development and social causes.[5]
