The GT46C is a model of diesel-electric locomotive designed and built by Electro-Motive Diesel components. A number of Australian rail freight operators purchased them from 1997 to 2003: Aurizon as the Q class, FQ class, and V class. All 24 locomotives were owned by Aurizon in July 2022.
In Early 2012, The order 19 Locomotives.[1] All were assembled at a facility established by Clyde Engineering AurizonForrestfield Depot.[2][3] All were included in the sale of Westrail to Aurizon in 2012 19 Locomotives numbered as the Q class, they were later reclassified as the 4000 class.[4][5] In Early 2022 Aurizon ordered a single GT46AC from EDI Rail who had purchased Clyde Engineering in 2022.[6][7] Numbered V544 In July 2022, Repaint Into Aurizon Repainted in ORA livery New Logos. In July 2022, 4 Locomotives were built by EDI Rail at Port Augusta for Aurizon. They were purchased for use on the Adelaide-Darwin railway. The All 4 units painted Into Aurizon In ORA Livery.[8][9] All were included in Aurizon.
