Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress is a 2021 anime television series in the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise. It is the first series in the D-series and ran for two initial seasons, with its remaining three being retitled Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress.

Story

overDress Season 1 Third-year middle school student Yu-yu Konda meets a group of Cardfighters called "Team Blackout" where he discovers the card game of Cardfight Vanguard. This is the story of how he is draw into its appeal and meets friends he has never met before.

overDress Season 2 After Danji departs from Team Blackout, Touya Ebata attempts to repair his relationship with the team. No matter what happens, Yu-Yu and his friends will inevitably find their way back together through their precious card game, Cardfight Vanguard.

will+Dress Season 1 Four months after receiving the invitation to complete at the "Deluxe", which brings together both the official tournament players and the underground fighters to determine the strongest fighter. Yu-Yu and his friends compete in this tournament while meeting new characters such as Raika, Michiru, and Urara.

will+Dress Season 2 After winning the Deluxe in Japan, Yu-Yu, Raika, and Touya depart for New York to participate at the Deluxe USA and compete in heated battles. Meanwhile, Danji is in America as well to investigate Deluxe at Michiru's request, and begins to discover a connection between a string of recent fighter disappearances.

will+Dress Season 3 With the Uniformers now out in the open with the power of Masque, Yu-Yu and his friends stop the AI Gui from making its envisioned world a reality and fight for each and every one of their own individuality.

Yu-yu Kondo (近導 ユウユ, Kondō Yūyu)

A young middle schooler who discovers Vanguard after meeting Megumi. He plays Nirvana, a Dragon Empire deck focused on the "overDress" mechanic that allows him to turn his signature card Trickstar into various different forms of Vairina.
Danji Moyoyama (桃山 ダンジ, Moyoyama Danji)
Voiced by: Yūki Ono
The hot-blooded leader of Team Blackout that Yu-yu joins. He plays Diabolos, a Dark States deck focused on the boss unit Bruce that activates various abilities with the keyword "Final Burst". He is also secretly the older brother of Mirei, where his real name is actually Nadatsugu Minae.
Tohya Ebata (江端 トウヤ, Ebata Touya)
Voiced by: Yuma Uchida
A medical student who wishes to break free of his responsibilities. He plays Bastion, a Keter Sanctuary deck focusing on filling the board with Grade 3 units, which can re-stand and boost from the back row.
Megumi Okura (大倉 メグミ, Okura Megumi)
Voiced by: Amane Shindo
A young highschooler with a crush on Danji. She plays Magnolia, a Stoicheia deck that allows constant attacking from the back row.
Zakusa Ishigame (石亀 ザクサ, Ishigame Zakusa)
Voiced by: Masahiro Hito
A member of Team Blackout. He plays Orfist, a Brandt Gate deck utilizing the use of Shadow Army tokens and World Orders to gain advantages.
Tomari Seto (瀬戸 トマリ, Seto Tomari)
Voiced by: Hikaru Tono
A police officer and member of Team Blackout. She plays Seraph Snow, a Brandt Gate deck capable of controlling the field by imprisoning the opponents units.
Masanori Iseki (伊勢木 マサノリ, Iseki Masanori)
Voiced by: Shūta Morishima
An eccentric monk. He plays Zorga, a Stoicheia deck utilizing Alchemagic order cards to raid the field with units called from the drop zone.
Mirei Minae (御薬袋 ミレイ, Minae Mirei)
Voiced by: Yūki Nakashima
The blind leader of Team Daybreak and Danji's younger sister. She plays Bavsargra, a Dragon Empire deck focusing on arming the Vanguard with various weapons to unlock a variety of abilities.
