Bio
[edit]Singer/songwriter Cory Mon [1] has a distinct voice in the world of music. Assuming the life of a musician, he has thrived as well as endured through the many ups and downs that have come throughout his well tenured career. Not only has Cory Recorded 7 original albums and toured as support for/shared the stage with a handful of his favorite artists (JJ Grey & Mofro, Sean Hayes, The Avett Brothers, Patterson Hood etc), he’s also involved himself in the business side of music, pioneering his own indie record label/booking boutique and working his way into the position as lead marketing manager for a record label all along the way.
Cory will be opening for Mavis Staples at the Park City Song Summit Park City Song Summit Festival [2] Aug. 15, 2024.

Early Life
[edit]Cory was born Cory Moughan in Chicago, IL to his parents. From an early age he was musically inclined and started writing his own music at the age of twelve. He learned to play guitar because he didn't have any friends. At an age he moved to Utah and started performing at local venues in Provo, Utah and surrounding cities.
Cory was briefly married. He and his wife had a beautifully baby girl, who has been a great inspiration to Cory's music.
In 2018 Cory moved with his family to Florida. However, with the global pandemic in 2020, Cory made the choice to move back to Utah. Since his return to Utah, Cory has been working hard to reestablish himself as one of the premier singer/songwriters in Utah.
