Visual art and curation

[edit]

As a visual artist, Strong works primarily in painting, sculpture, and instrument invention, often incorporating text from his poetry into his pieces. His creative process emphasizes patient observation and study of materials, combining sacred and absurd elements in his work. He operates the experimental music label COR ARDENS and has organized events and workshops in abandoned graveyards, school auditoriums and exhibition spaces throughout the Philadelphia area.

Artistic philosophy

[edit]

Strong's artistic approach emphasizes patient study of materials and phenomena, integrating spiritual practice with artistic creation. His work explores the intersection of science as a "domestic practice" with deep listening and observation. His practice includes research into religious antinomianism, Vitalist currents in the tradition of William Blake and Meister Eckhart, American Utopian experiments, and anomalous phenomena.
