Early Life and Education

[edit]

Liscah was born in Kisii, Kenya, in 1995. At the age of one and a half, she emigrated to the United States with her family, settling in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she spent her early years. Her mother worked as a hairdresser, and her father was a teacher. She grew up alongside an older sister and a younger brother. In 2005, she moved to Pennsylvania, and in 2011, she relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Liscah attended Cox Mill High School, graduating in 2013. During her time there, she was active in the debate club and played on the basketball team, showcasing her well-rounded interests in academics and extracurricular activities.

She pursued her undergraduate studies at East Carolina University, a school renowned for its strong academic programs. Liscah double majored in History and Political Science, driven by her ambition to become a lawyer. At ECU, she demonstrated leadership as Vice President of the African Students Organization, earned a spot on the Dean's List for multiple semesters, and received praise from professors. Additionally, she contributed to the historic election of Judge Wendy S. Hazelton, the first African American judge elected in Pitt County, North Carolina, through her role on the campaign committee.

For law school, Liscah chose North Carolina Central University School of Law, an HBCU celebrated for its emphasis on Black excellence and producing exceptional litigators.[2] During her time there, she gained valuable experience through internships, including an externship with SAS in their patent department for in-house counsel and an internship with the Mecklenburg County Public Defender's Office. She also served as President of the African Law Students Association (ALSA). Liscah graduated cum laude in May 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

[edit]

Liscah founded her law firm on February 2, 2021, inspired by a desire to help people gain access to legal advocacy and provide the tools necessary to build their businesses on a strong legal foundation. Her mission is to empower clients to create generational wealth on their own terms.

The firm specializes in several key areas, including business law, contract law, intellectual property law (with a focus on trademarks and copyright law), entertainment law, civil and business litigation, and technology law. The practice serves transactional clients locally, nationally, and internationally, handling non-litigation legal matters such as drafting contracts, business formation, advising on compliance, and facilitating business transactions. Litigation services, however, are currently offered exclusively in North Carolina.

Liscah’s firm stands out for its tailored service and personalized solutions, guided by the slogan, "Where Legal Expertise Meets Business Strategy." As a business-minded visionary, Liscah excels at identifying pain points in business owners' growth strategies and addressing them with strategic legal solutions.

One notable achievement of the firm includes successfully defending a client in a trademark infringement case against a Fortune 500 company, resulting in the case being dropped despite claims of a similar or identical name.

Liscah is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar, and North Carolina Bar.
