Pasang Dolma Sherpa (born 28 March 1998) is a Nepalese community leader, model, artist, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Mongol Nepal 2022.[1] She is the founder and president of the Wings Nepal Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and communities in rural Nepal through education and advocacy. Recognized for her advocacy of Sherpa culture and contributions to education, Sherpa has also been elected as the General Secretary of the Sindhu USA Welfare Society[2] in New York in early 2024, demonstrating her commitment to serving the Nepalese diaspora. Her leadership in various community initiatives, coupled with her passion for the performing arts and her growing presence in the media, has established her as an influential figure both nationally and internationally. Early life and education

Pasang Dolma Sherpa was born in Golchi, Marming-5, Bhotekoshi, Sindhupalchok District, Nepal, to father Pema Sherpa and mother Krimu Sherpa. She is of Sherpa descent, an ethnic group indigenous to the mountainous regions of Nepal and the Himalayas. She has two elder siblings, brother Norsang Sherpa and sister Dichhen Sherpa, and a younger brother, Subba Sherpa. She completed her school education at Mount Summit Boarding School, located in Pipalbot, Boudha,Kathmandu, Nepal finishing in 2069 B.S. (2012 AD). Pasang then attended Golden Gate International College, where she majored in Biology and completed her high school education in 2015.

Pasang grew up in a village that faced significant challenges in accessing quality education, with many children unable to attend school. Witnessing these struggles firsthand, her parents made the life-changing decision to move from the village to provide their children with better educational opportunities. This decision allowed Pasang and her sister to become the first daughters from their entire village to pursue higher education, a milestone that continues to inspire her academic journey.

Over time, the educational landscape in her village has seen remarkable improvements. Today, many children are attending school, and numerous youths from the community are pursuing higher education in various countries. This transformation has brought immense joy and pride to Pasang, reinforcing her commitment to education. She aspires to use her academic achievements to further support and empower youth and children in Nepal, particularly in rural areas where educational opportunities remain limited.

Pasang completed her bachelor’s degree in microbiology at Xavier International College, affiliated with Tribhuvan University, in 2020. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's in Biology at Hunter College (CUNY), starting in 2024, driven by her passion for science and a strong desire to contribute to the education sector in Nepal.

In 2022, Sherpa achieved national recognition by winning the Miss Mongol Nepal[1] title. This pageant, which celebrates the beauty and indigenous culture of Nepal's diverse ethnic groups, provided a platform to showcase her talents and advocacy for her community. During the competition, she also received the Miss Talent Award.
