Tal Rabina (born Ocאober 25, 1959) is an Israeli strategic consultant specialising in crisis management and public relations for corporate,government ministries and NGO’s and is an international public diplomacy expert . He has previously served as the military correspondent for the IDF's Galei Tzahal radio station, and as an economic correspondent and presenter for Kol Israel National Radio. Rabina serves as the strategic director of the EJA (European Jewish Association), EIPA (Europe Israel Press Association)[1] and AMEPA (American Middle East Press Association).[2]

Biography

Born in 1959, during his youth, he volunteered at a boarding school for at-risk children and served as the Deputy National President of the Israeli "BBYO" organisation (NOAR L’NOAR).

Military correspondent

Rabina served as a military correspondent for Galei Tzahal radio station. He was also the Chief editor and producer of the "Shirotrom" (telethon for soldiers welfare) broadcasts. During his service, he was seriously injured while covering an encounter between the Golani Brigade and terrorists at the Lebanon border, subsequently undergoing a prolonged rehabilitation process. Upon returning to activity, Rabina rejoined Galei Tzahal as an editor and host of military programs and news broadcasts. He was also responsible for live broadcasts, news events, and traffic reporting. Rabina received a Galei Tzahal Commander's Award for a series of broadcasts fighting road accidents.

Kol Israel correspondent and presenter

After retiring from Galei Tzahal, Rabina was appointed as economic correspondent and later as a broadcaster and editor for Kol Israel National Radio. In 1987, he left broadcasting to become the chief editor of commercial supplements for the Maariv daily newspaper and also hosted commercial broadcasts on Channel 7 radio.

Strategic and media consultancy

In 1989, Rabina founded his company 'Tal Rabina Integrated Communication Ltd.' specialising in the overall strategic communication and crisis management for clients in the public, governmental, and business sectors. Rabina’s company managed the communication strategy over the IDB Group, [3]national crises such as the tourist decrease following security escalations in Israel, the strategic management of the Goldwasser family campaign to bring back the late abducted soldier Udi. Public Diplomacy Involvement

Rabina actively participates in forums dealing with Israel's image around the world during times of security escalation. In 2002, following the defamation campaign against IDF soldiers who took part in Operation Defensive Shield, Rabina was one of the initiators of civil society activities aimed at rebutting blood-libels against IDF soldiers.  [5]

In 2012 Rabina contributed to the realisation of the vision of Rabbi Menachem Margolin, to establish the European Jewish Association (EJA)[6][7][8] and serves as the Strategic Director and Head of the Israeli office of the Association and its public diplomacy NGOs  Europe Israel Press Association (EIPA) and American Middle East Press Association (AMEPA). Both founded by Rabbi Margolin as non-partisan, non-profit NGOs focused on fostering a deeper understanding of Israel and enhancing comprehensive coverage of Israel within the broader context of the Middle East. EIPA and AMEPA serves as a trusted resource for journalists looking for experts and spokespeople on the current conflict and beyond and regularly provides media professionals with news, facts, background information, research, and analysis. EIPA and AMEPA also organise press trips to Israel where journalists can meet top leaders, government officials, and other public and private sector experts to learn first-hand about the country and its many opportunities and challenges.[9]

Since the October 7th attacks and the war in Gaza, Rabina has been operating a media centre for hundreds of European and American journalists, providing regular updates about the war and connecting international media with senior Israeli experts and officials.

Rabina has three children. He resides in Savyon.[10]
