Top Gun 3 is an upcoming American action drama film written by Ehren Kruger. It serves as the sequel to Top Gun: Maverick (2022). It stars Tom Cruise and Glen Powell.
Cast
[edit]- Tom Cruise as Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell: A test pilot and flight instructor, training a group of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission.
- Glen Powell as LT Jake "Hangman" Seresin: An F/A-18E pilot and mission candidate.
Production
[edit]Development of a third Top Gun film at Paramount Pictures was revealed in January 2024,[1] after beginning development the previous fall.[2] Ehren Kruger was writing the script for the film with plans to have Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Glen Powell reprise their roles from Top Gun: Maverick. Joseph Kosinski is set to return to either direct or produce the film, which also has returning producers Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison.[3] In November 2024, it was revealed that Powell would reprise his role as LT Jake "Hangman" Seresin.[4]
