Greenwood Personal Credit Ltd. was a finance company supplying home-collected credit based in Bradford, United Kingdom. It was a subsidiary of Provident Financial.
History
[edit]Greenwood was founded by William Greenwood in Ashton under Lyne in 1877. Its first office was opened in Oldham in 1879 and by 1901 there were six branch offices in the area. William retired in 1908 and his two sons, Henry Thomas Greenwood and William Arthur Greenwood took over the company. The company was acquired by Provident Financial in 1977 and began to trade under the name of Greenwood Personal Credit Ltd.
The company was closed down on 31 December 2021.
