Shirish Kumar Maurya is a Hindi poet, translator and critic. He is a professor of Hindi in Kumaon University and Director of Mahadevi Verma Srijanpeeth, Ramgarh and the chief editor of online Hindi magazine Anunaad.[1][2]
Early Life
[edit]Shirish Kumar Maurya was born on 13 December 1973 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He did his primary education from Naugaonkhal in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand and did B.Sc. and M.A. 'Hindi' from Government Post Graduate College, Ramnagar, Nainital. He is currently working as a Professor in the Hindi Department of Kumaon University, DSB Campus, Nainital, Uttarakhand.[3][4][5]
Literary career
[edit]Shirish Kumar Maurya started writing poetry at the age of 17 and his first poetry collection named "Pehla Qadam" was published in 1994. Apart from poetry, he has also worked in translation and criticism. Three books of his criticism have been published. Currently he is the chief editor of Hindi online magazine Anunaad.[2]
