Holy moly

[edit]

Wow this is a really long article. I listened to breakcore while reading it lol. From Rushpedia, the free stupid goofball (talk) 19:25, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the "Television" section as redundant to 2024 in Australian television, so now this page is only the third-longest on Wikipedia. --Ahecht (TALK

why'd you comment this on my comment if I was just saying that it was really long, not even saying it was the longest. From Rushpedia, the free stupid goofball (talk) 15:15, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can spot a lot of entries that aren't really related to Australia, such as Australia-born actors winning awards not given in Australia. Or things happening not just in Australia, like when all the computers broke this year.
There are also entries that probably don't need to be in a list of the most notable things to happen in a place in a year, such as crimes that are not related to any notable person. Perhaps, if there's no wikilink, it doesn't need to be here. And even some accidental deaths that have a wikilink to where they happened, probably don't have lasting notability unless the death is truly unusual.
That's not the only quotidian news summaries. Some entries are politicians changing parties or quitting (yawn). Or the results of sports matches that happen every year (you don't say?). Also, a storm hit and knocked down some power lines (they repaired it). Lots of things without lasting notability. See WP:ASTONISHME. Wizmut (talk) 14:45, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
