Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it's made some major headlines with its recent reports about cloned sites. Deku-shrub (talk) 23:30, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also the wiki-articles of other languages are there for a reason. The site's well known by dark web people. I don't see why it would be necessary to delete the article. --Fixuture (talk) 17:26, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fact-check the article: The creator of Ahmia is Juha Nurmi, and the filtering policy is well-documented

[edit]

This article contains false information and requires a fact-check. Check the following facts on Ahmia.fi:

1) Juha Nurmi is the creator and maintainer of Ahmia.fi. References:

https://blog.torproject.org/tor-heart-ahmia-project/

https://ahmia.fi/legal/

https://ahmia.fi/about/

2) Also, as mentioned in the references above on Ahmia.fi itself, Ahmia.fi's filtering policy is well-documented. There is even a scientific article about the filtering policy, which also documents that Juha Nurmi is the creator of Ahmia.fi.

"Thus, the creator of the search engine – the first author of this paper – decided after the research in November 2023 to filter all sexual and suspicious searches, despite the collateral damage." 193.166.164.36 (talk) 20:13, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The false information came from here: someone vandalized this article in 1 August 2024: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ahmia&diff=prev&oldid=1237977216 193.166.164.36 (talk) 06:59, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Now the article is fixed with the right facts, references and the overal content is improved. The references are now the primary references of the developement, source code, and scientific articles explaining the Ahmia search engine. Numes (talk) 08:13, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
