I'm removing the {{reqphoto}} tag, as I have uploaded a photo of an appropriate bas-relief from the Historical Museum of the Palatinate. If anybody has more photos, of course, please add them too! Q·L·1968☿00:53, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
An anonymous user just linked to genius loci instead of genius, which is definitely a step in the right direction (I see that the genius article deals with high-IQ people). However, the genius of a pagus will have dominion over an entire collectivity, rather than just a particular place. In terms of space, we're talking about a wider scope than a genius loci; the emphasis will also be over the organized political community, rather than the natural world. I've therefore linked to genius (mythology) instead. [Properly that article should be genius (divinity) since it's not about mythology but about cult, iconography and theology—but that's a fight to be had another day.] Q·L·1968☿18:51, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
