– Reposted malformed request on behalf of User:Billsmith60, with the following rationale: "Barney Hughes, the 19th-century Belfast industrialist and philanthropist, is renowned to this day. Hence "Barney Hughes" should be his page and I recommend that "Bernard Hughes" should be moved to "Barney Hughes". I moved the "Barney Hughes" page detailing "Robert Wood Hughes", a minor rugby player, to one of that name and see that, helpfully, it has been renamed "Barney Hughes (rugby union). Thank you." 162 etc. (talk) 23:45, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support Bernard Hughes → Barney Hughes per nomination and per BBC link which indicates that subject's given name was not "Bernard", but "Brendan", although his WP:COMMONNAME was "Barney". However, oppose Barney Hughes → Barney Hughes (disambiguation) per WP:ONEOTHER, but would support Barney Hughes → deleted to make room for move. A hatnote atop his entry pointing to the rugby player should suffice. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 04:04, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
