Great little article, but "buffalo" is a pretty inaccurate colloquial name. I suggest we make a simple move to Catalina Island bison herd. Steven Walling 18:02, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia prefers common names to accurate names. I checked Google for ["Catalina Island" herd].[1] The results are mixed, but it looks like "bison" is more popular than "buffalo", and for that reason (as well as greater accuracy) I'd support the move.
