Guitar riff terminology

[edit]

The second paragraph currently says 'a song being built around a hard angular and muscular riff'. These terms seem like poetic licence quorn3000 (talk) 07:55, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. It's definitely not the way I would label it. When it comes to riffs like the one in Hammer to fall I would just go with a standard "stiff and heavy riff" which is much more tuned to hard rock.

Unusual tuning

[edit]

The article does not say anything about the unusual tuning for this song. From what I see it's not half a step below standard E but maybe 1/4 below. Can anybody confirm?

South African chart performance

[edit]

I'm about to attempt my edit of this subject. In good faith, no doubt, this detail was first added on the 14th of April, 2014, and has been incorporated and commented on ever since. This link is sourced in other Queen single articles, and confirms my own memory that Hammer To Fall did not chart; let alone make it to number 3. [1]http://rock.co.za/files/springbok_top_20_(Q).html Please make any corrections should I stray from agreed stylistic standards - thank you. TheHappyReturn (talk) 18:20, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
