Overpayment
[edit]Hi, I'm Tommy Brown of Statesboro, Bulloch county Georgia. I've served about 35 year's in local law enforcement. I turned 62 in March of this year and filed for social security. Since then I've been told that I have been over paid back in 1978 when my father was drawing disability on me. I tried to explain to the local office and was told that it was so long ago that they didn't know why but I had to pay back almost $2000 dollar's for something I had no control over and did not receive. I need some help please. Please let me know if I need to contact someone else or if this email makes it into the right hands. I can not afford to miss a check. I just received a letter stating that I would not receive a SS check for December and would be $291 shot on my January check. Please help me. Thanks.
