Hello, @Antiquistik: thank you for expanding this page. It would be more appropriate to move theory about Possible Near Eastern influences to it's own section under "Comparative scholarship" as it is done for Sekhmet and Anat pages. Marvin H. Pope's theory is not widely received since not much has not been much published about this theory since 1970s, therefore Comparative scholarship would be more appropriate here instead of origins.117.198.116.86 (talk) 03:41, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, more recent scholarship on Kali on like - "Tantric Kali Secret Practices and Rituals By Daniel Odier" (2016), "Offering Flowers, Feeding Skulls By June McDaniel" (2004), "Encountering Kali In the Margins, at the Center, in the West By Jeffrey J. Kripal, Rachel Fell McDermott" (2003)- Do not make any such claims either or mention it. 117.198.116.86 (talk) 02:49, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria. Some of my concerns are listed below:
There is uncited text throughout the article
The article relies upon block quotes in some sections. This creates copyright concerns and makes the prose more difficult to read and understand. I recommend that this text is summarised instead.
The "In popular culture" section is written with one- or two-sentence paragraphs, making this seem like a list. This should be better organised with larger paragraphs.
@Eucalyptusmint: Sorry for the late response: I have been busy in real life. I added a cn tag to the article. I also think the "In modern times" should not have quotes that are so long, but instead the research should be summarised. Z1720 (talk) 15:04, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
