Distinction between "domestic" and "regional"
[edit]What exactly is the distinction between "domestic" and "regional" in the third table ? Is it determined by the location of the destination, whether the destination is in the same or different state, the size or type of aircraft, or the identity of the aircraft operator ? The reference cited is a broken link. From a Sydney point of view, you could assess that flights to Dubbo are considered "regional" and flights to Melbourne are "domestic". How does it work though, for , say, Newman, where all the flights are categorised as domestic although (almost?) all of them would be to Perth.Eregli bob (talk) 07:11, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Update Ballina Airport passenger numbers to 382,389 sourced here: http://ballinabyronairport.com.au/passenger-growth-12-january-2014/ 60.231.38.78 (talk) 13:26, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Not done: Sorry, but it just doesn't make sense to update just one row in a table like that. Regards, Older and ... well older (talk) 18:27, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
Current Data Source - 2023 data
[edit]SEE https://www.bitre.gov.au/publications/ongoing/domestic_airline_activity-annual_publications HOWEVER someone will need to manipulate the available spreadsheet data. For example, there are 2023 ranked data for airport-to-airport passenger numbers. Ranking the busiest airports seems likely to need some aggregation by some kinder-than-I person. By way of further example, 2023's first ranked is Melbourne - Sydney with revenue pax. of 7,624,605 2001:8003:1C0E:0:94B4:EAFF:1823:5220 (talk) 02:37, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
Update needed -2023/2024
[edit]Hey, so I tried to read the data for this, but given that a bit seems to be missing with information (namely names for the passenger number sheets, and that I'm not entirely confident that I'll do it right, could someone else do this if possible, source is [here], many thanks all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Essexman03 (talk • contribs) 17:11, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
