Araling Panlipunan

The Sulu Sea (Filipino: Dagat Sulu; Tausug: Dagat sin Sūg; Chavacano: Mar de Sulu; Cebuano: Dagat sa Sulu; Hiligaynon: Dagat sang Sulu; Karay-a: Dagat kang Sulu; Cuyonon: Dagat i'ang Sulu; Malay: Laut Sulu) is a body of water in the southwestern area of the Philippines, separated from the South China Sea in the northwest by Palawan[1] and from the Celebes Sea in the southeast by the Sulu Archipelago.[2] Borneo is found to the southwest and Visayas to the northeast 112.198.12.146 (talk) 12:12, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Natural History

The Sulu Sea is nearly cut off from the ocean. Did the lower sea level during the Ice Age ever result in the Sulu Sea being cut off from the ocean? If so, what was its salinity then? Does its ecology have any special characteristics? J S Ayer (talk) 22:18, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sulu - NE limit

The article reads: "The Southwest coast of Mindoro to Buruncan Point, its Southern extreme, thence a line through Semirara and Caluya Islands to Nasog Point (11°53′N 121°53′E) the Northwestern extreme of Panay[...].

Nasog Point is in Antique. It is located in the southwestern tip of Panay Island. The article must mean Naasug in Malay, Aklan, which corresponds to the 'northwestern' description and the coordinates. Smcacliong (talk) 02:44, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
