James T. Brady
[edit]... that James Topham Brady tried fifty-two criminal cases, and only lost one?
Created by Ceradon (talk). Self-nominated at 03:07, 28 July 2015 (UTC).
- I have different suggestion(s):
ALT1: ... that James Topham Brady tried fifty-two criminal cases and lost only one, the case of Confederate privateer John Yates Beall?ALT2: ... that James T. Brady, who tried 52 criminal cases and lost only the case of Confederate privateer John Yates Beall, defended Lew Baker in court, who fatally shot William Poole at a Manhattan bar in 1854?ALT3: ... that James Topham Brady defended Lew Baker at a murder trial, who fatally shot William "Bill the Butcher" Poole at a Manhattan bar in 1854?
- @George Ho: I like ALT3, but perhaps: ... that James Topham Brady defended Lew Baker at a murder trial, who fatally shot "Bill the Butcher" Poole at a Manhattan bar in 1854? --ceradon (talk • edits) 07:31, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- ALT3b: ... that James Topham Brady defended Lew Baker at a murder trial, who fatally shot "Bill the Butcher" Poole at a Manhattan bar in 1854?
- ALT3c: ... that James Topham Brady defended Lew Baker, who fatally shot "Bill the Butcher" Poole at a Manhattan bar in 1854?
George Ho, were you reviewing this DYK or commenting? If it's the former, have all of your concerns been addressed? --ceradon (talk • edits) 04:42, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- I was making suggestions but haven't reviewed the article yet. George Ho (talk) 04:46, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- This article is new enough and long enough, and is also now a GA. The ALT3b hook is cited and satisfactory, but would be better as ALT3c (which I have added) in my opinion. The article is neutral and I detected no close paraphrasing. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:43, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- Awesome. Thank you, Cwmhiraeth. --ceradon 07:00, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
