[edit]Sapan Kumar Sen is a Bangladeshi physicist and researcher at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sen's interested research areas are quantum condensed matter physics, materials sciences, nanoscience and nanotechnology, quantum materials, etc.
Personal life and education
[edit]Sapan was born on April 16, 1988 in Patgram upazila under Lalmonirhat District, Bangladesh. He raised in the village of Hosnabad, located under the Baura Union. This environment played a formative role in shaping his early life and values. He completed his secondary education (SSc, science) in 2003 from Rasulpur Abdul Hossain Basunia High School (রসুলপুর আব্দাল হোসেন বসুনিয়া উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়), Patgram, Lalmonirhat and later higher secondary education (HSc, science) in 2025 from Barakhata College (বড়খাতা কলেজ), Barakhata, Hatibadha, Lalmonirhat. He pursued his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc., season 2005-06) and Master of Science (M.Sc., season 2009-10) degrees in physics at the Jagannath University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He secured the 3rd position in the class with a CGPA of 3.75/4.00 (A grade) during his undergraduate studies and achieved the 1st position in the department, graduating with a perfect CGPA of 4.00/4.00 (A+ grade) in his Master's program. He joined the Department of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder, Boulder, Colorado, United States in fall 2024 to pursue a PhD.
Career
[edit]His career began as a researcher at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC). Sapan joined the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Dhaka, Bangladesh as a Scientific Officer (SO) at the Institute of Electronics (IE), Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Savar, Dhaka , on July 27, 2016. He was promoted to Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) on June 27, 2021, and is currently serving in the IE as an SSO.
Sapan is a member of the Bangladesh Physical Society, Bangladesh Electronics and Informatics Society, Bangladesh Nano Society.
