January 2018
[edit]Hello! I noticed that you've been adding a lot of content to articles with odd edit summaries that don't match their edits. Just as an example, in your most recent edit you deleted a whole paragraph and moved some content around all with the summary "Added wikilink." From now on, can you please try to use edit summaries that accurately reflect your edits? Thanks in advance. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 23:03, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
You continue to use edit summaries that don't reflect the changes you're making. For instance, in this edit you added a sentence to George Papadopoulos, plus a supporting reference. However your edit summary was just "Added reference." A more appropriate and less misleading edit summary might be something like "Added sentence about fiancee, plus supporting reference." In contrast, here in an example of an edit that you appropriately summarized as "Added reference." --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 18:52, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 09:54, 15 February 2018 (UTC)Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello 67.53.214.86, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to VTB Bank have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:16, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as List of people sanctioned during the Ukrainian crisis. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:30, 1 March 2018 (UTC)

MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:10, 11 March 2018 (UTC)Please add a logo to Kalashnikov USA
[edit]Please see WP:Logo for how to add a logo.
- Upload it using the "Upload file" link shown right now on the left side of your screen, a few inches below the Wikipedia globe emblem.
- The logo *must* be no larger than 300x300px and not high-resolution for copyright reasons.
- You have to have the logo on your computer, you can't upload it directly from a web link
- When you go into the upload form, do not select "Own work" (you did not make up the logo), but choose "copyright item, logo, for use only on this one page, etc." Just choose the logical items for each button/entry, and then it'll upload it and give you the code.
Hope this helps! MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:12, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
False claims regarding sanctions on VTB bank
[edit]Please can you respond to talk page and explain why you interpret the citations you used as supporting the claims you added to the VTB_Bank#History section for "29 July 2014" and "22 December 2015". I would also appreciate if you could indicate if you are making these changes as part of your employment or if it is done in your personal capacity. Soh.Miero (talk) 00:49, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- I did not say the sources are not reliable, they just do not support the text you added to the wiki. It's like citing NASA in a claim that the earth is flat, sure, NASA is a reliable source, but they do not claim the earth is flat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soh.Miero (talk • contribs) 01:49, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- Can we try and keep the discussion on the Talk:VTB_Bank#False_claims_regarding_sanctions page, I gave a detailed explanation which is more than fair as to why the assertions are wrong and why your citations are irrelevant. Thanks. Soh.Miero (talk) 02:28, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
Hi, it is a reliable source from the United States government.67.53.214.86 (talk) 01:46, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- I have updated references for 29 July 2014 and 22 December 2015 by removing three references for lack of support. The other references fully support the statements.
- The writeup for the Swiss entry has been clarified. I fully agree with the addition of the Swiss list of sanctions. On several different days, I have searched the Swiss law for the list, but have not found the correct list. However, for now, these are the best references that I have found. Of course, I could add RT articles, but the RT articles are not specific about which companies are sanctioned.
- I corrected the url for the EU sanctions on 31 July 2014. This reference clearly states VTB Bank.
- Thank you for your discussion.67.53.214.86 (talk) 03:36, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- @67.53.214.86: Last I checked your references are still inaccurate even though your claims are now more accurate. I was trying to fix the references when I got blocked from wikipedia and I still have only been partially unblocked after spending hours to correct it and really have just run down my energy to work on this. It would be good to fix the references but I'm no longer going to work on this. --Soh.Miero (talk) 17:56, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

[edit]- Michael R. Caputo was a Kremlin paid media consultant to Yeltsin and Putin from the mid 1990s to late 2000: the same timeframe that Mikhail Lesin was consolidating the Russian media under the Kremlin's control.
So what are you saying, there is a connection, you believe there must be? Without a source it's purely a POV to draw a connection between them. See also can be easily abused that way, implying things otherwise unsourced. Also, see also isn't a random list of people someone might have known, there need be a strong and compelling reason to link. -- GreenC 05:36, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Copying licensed material requires attribution
[edit]Hi. I see in a recent addition to List of people sanctioned during the Ukrainian crisis you included material from this document. That's okay, since the Council of the European Union allows reproduction of their documents, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:41, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

» Shadowowl | talk 09:43, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (2nd request)
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Anthony Kennedy into Deutsche Bank. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
I am the sole author of the prose that was copied.
Also, the passage had been deleted from wikipedia.
The material on the Anthony Kennedy page had been deleted because the passage was more to do with relationship among persons at Deutsche Bank (Justin Kennedy, who is Anthony Kennedy's son, and others) and Deutsche Bank's unusual relationships with Donald Trump. I had written the passage, but it had been removed from Anthony Kennedy's page by SunCrow because "remove ridiculous footnote that has to do with Donald Trump and has nothing to do with Anthony Kennedy". I could not deny what SunCrow stated. The passage was more appropriate somewhere else.
You are very correct for this user to state that the passage had come from a previous article. However, the passage had been deleted from the article.
I'll state a more appropriate remark in future edits so that the location of the original passage will be included, even if the passage has been deleted.
Thank you for giving me the useful recommendations. I'll be more specific in the remarks. 67.53.214.86 (talk) 22:10, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

It took me nearly ten hours of analyzing the changes and doing additional research until I found out that your work is definetely not based on facts. If you want to describe Schlaff as a bad man or as a villain, Wikipedia is not the right forum. I do not understand what your intentions are! If he commited crimes, we will report it (after the verdict). If not, we will not report it. You cite The Martin Schlaff Saga by Gidi Weitz six times, a trashy piece of tabloid journalism.
