[edit]Do not use multiple IP addresses to disrupt Wikipedia, like you did at Barack Obama "Hope" poster. Such attempts to avoid detection, circumvent policies or evade blocks or sanctions will not succeed. You are welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, but your recent edits have been reverted or removed. If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Binksternet (talk) 12:40, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- It's not multiple IP addresses is it my IP address. You appear to be paranoid. 92.15.247.231 (talk) 12:59, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
Unblock Request
[edit]92.15.247.231 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
This is my IP address. I just started editing Wikipedia with it. I noticed in the history page of the "Barack Obama "Hope" poster" that "then president" had been changed to "president". As a matter of fact Obama is the then president, he is not the current president. So I changed it back. My change was immediately reverted by the person who made the first change, isn't this edit warring?
I have no connection at all with 141.154.49.21. I am in Europe, 141.154.49.21 appears to be in another continent. I find it amazing that one of my first edits has been blocked and that another editor has been blocked for this minor and factual correction to a Wikipedia article.
Please explain it to me. 92.15.247.231 (talk) 15:26, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Looking at Geolocate the other IP is in the US, and you're in the UK. So your reasoning is credible that the block reason is mistaken. However, you are on shakier ground when it comes to the edit warring accusation. You reverted 3 times continuing an edit war. And you have been blocked 31 hours, which would be about right for a first offense. In your next unblock request, you should say that you will use the article talk page to find a consensus. If that doesn't work, you could try dispute resolution. PhilKnight (talk) 18:51, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Nearby IP Special:Contributions/92.15.245.154 is currently blocked for one year after targeting edits made by Jimfbleak. The involved IP range Special:Contributions/92.15.224.0/19 has been a persistent problem, with many of its edits reverted by others. Two of the IPs have specifically targeted my edits to cause me trouble: this one last month and this one two months ago. I think the block by Widr is valid. A longer block or a rangeblock might be in order. Binksternet (talk) 18:26, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

- So I'm blocked because of nearby IP addresses and because Binksternet may be being targeted by someone. Oh and edit waring is only when I revert, not when the complainer does it. And the icing on the cake is my request for unblock is met with "A longer block or a rangeblock might be in order". Welcome to Wikipedia. 92.15.247.231 (talk) 21:49, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
