DYK for National War Fund
[edit]On 17 February 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article National War Fund, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the joint National War Fund was created during World War II so that American citizens would not get annoyed by multiple donation requests for service members' support and overseas relief? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/National War Fund. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, National War Fund), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Adding DEFAULTSORT using "L"
[edit]Hallo and thanks for creating Jessica Mak and Jehanne Rousseau, which I've just come across while stub-sorting.
There is a very easy way to add the DEFAULTSORT (so the article files by surname in lists), and Category:Living people where appropriate, and any birth or death date category: {{subst:L|1882|1984|Brown, Annie}}
would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Brown, Annie}}, Category:1882 births and Category:1984 deaths, while {{subst:L|||Smith, Jane}}
would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Smith, Jane}}, Category:Living people and Category:Date of birth missing (living people). Lack of death date implies "living" (or you can add "unknown" or "missing" as the death date to suppress this). the template{{L}} has to be "substituted", so you need the "subbst|", but even so you get a lot done for a few keystrokes: I think it's a great little template. Happy Editing. PamD 08:27, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Editing
[edit]Hallo, I had a look at Connie Booth (business executive): there are a couple of points I'd make.
- As for the two I mentioned above, please note that the {{reflist}} or <references /> goes before the categories, not after them - see WP:ORDER.
- When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie Connie Booth), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find the new article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one.
There's a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia but it's an interesting journey. Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 08:39, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of TESA Collective
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on TESA Collective, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Onel5969 TT me 00:25, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
Refs in right place please
[edit]In creating TESA Collective you've put the "References" section in the wrong place, although advised above about this. Please check WP:ORDER. I can't easily fix it as phone editing is one section at a time. PamD 06:06, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- Fixed it now, but please save other editors' time by getting it right yourself. Thanks. PamD 08:23, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Flurrious. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Tanya X. Short, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:20, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
Hi Robert McClenon, Not sure why you bring up conflict of interest, but those none of those apply. Sorry if I moved the pages back to article space too soon, was not intending to cause disruption. I'd thought expanding them was sufficient.Flurrious (talk) 01:37, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- Both of those articles read promotionally, and contain language that is written like a resume. If you are not being paid by Ford and Short, I would advise you to ask for comments on those drafts at the Teahouse about tone and style. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:31, 27 February 2022 (UTC)

Kang Daniel GA review
[edit]I was wondering if you were going to do the review? If not, you need to withdraw the GA review if you aren't moving forward with it. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 20:29, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Btspurplegalaxy Other reviewers have suggested it be more thorough. Here are the suggestions I have so far.
- 1A Is it well written?
- 2019: Solo debut with Color on Me
- The second paragraph lists a number of fan events, consider summarizing them. WP:PROSELINE
- 2020–2021: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and MC ventures
- Organizing the last paragraph by date is a little choppy, could summarize about Kang's experience as an MC.
- 2022: Acting debut and The Story
- Could break this section into two paragraphs. The Story part could favor summary over dates.
- Kang revealed that he was convinced to give this proposal a try for the comfortable atmosphere created by being around people his age.
- Could be a little more clear and concise without the passive voice.
- Impact and influence
- The sentence with The Barberettes could be a little clearer, may not need the revealed they were fans part.
- Consider summarizing the The Naver TV's Most Popular Videos lists.
- Endorsements
- Consider summarizing some of the modeling examples in the In September 2017 paragraph.
- Fashion and modelling
- Wasn't immediately clear to me what a rare high in sales was - might mention selling out the reprint.
- 2D It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
- Earwig's Copyvio Detector Tool found a few identical phrases, please paraphrase:
- one of the most sought-after stars among coveted luxury
- selected as an honorary ambassador for the special
- his first collaboration with American artists
- actor, as well as the streaming ... production debut in South Korea
- career break due to health issues Flurrious (talk) 02:23, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- I appreciate the reply. But please inform the nominator of these issues on the GA review page.Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 03:02, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Iraqi volleyball players
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Iraqi volleyball players indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! List of nuclear coercion attempts moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, List of nuclear coercion attempts, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:35, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

Could you populate the categories you're creating?
[edit]I've noticed that you've made a lot of categories about Librarians. However, most of these categories have one or two pages in them. It would be very helpful if you added more people to the categories (like 5+) that would demonstrate that the categories can be populated and avoid the risk of the category being deleted if the two pages are removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smasongarrison (talk • contribs) 01:08, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of first women mayors in the United States, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kathleen Kelly. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The article Miriam Cummings has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Avoid confusion between Miriam Bridelia Cummings and Miriam Cummings Mill Valley, California mayor.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Artha Woods
[edit]Hello Flurrious, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Artha Woods, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Artha Woods.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Vanderwaalforces}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
