WikiProject in the minority languages of English-speaking countries
[edit]I've just come across WikiProject in the minority languages of English-speaking countries. Are you still working on it or have you abandoned it? I have to say that these one-man projects seldom work very well, it's always a good idea to propose them formally at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals to see if anyone else is interested - or whether there is a similar project already in existence. I'm not sure exactly what you were trying to achieve, but you might be better off at places like Wikipedia:WikiProject Intertranswiki and Meta:Meta:Babylon or some of the big en-wiki projects like Wikipedia:WikiProject India. Yi people
[edit]Good evening. You left a message on my User Talk page. I see you are from Kazakhstan. You are seeking information on the number of Yi people in each county of China. The Chinese government conducted a census in 2000 and another in 2010. They published numbers of ethnic groups at the national level, for distribution to the news media. They needed numbers at the county and province levels to compile the numbers for the national level. But I do not know whether the county level numbers for ethnic groups were published. This publication may help you. [1] Good luck. Liangshan Yi (talk) 18:50, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
You have asked how many ethnic villages are in China. An ethnic village is a settlement that exists in a region where one ethnic group is dominant, and the settlement is mainly composed of members of one or more minority ethnic groups. If resettlement outside of the ethnic village is restricted, it may be called a ghetto. I do not know how many ethnic villages are in China, but I guess there may be hundreds. The dominant ethnic group is the Han, which is about 95% of the population of China. They have created ethnic villages in large numbers over the centuries, in areas normally inhabited by groups that are now ethnic minorities in China, such as my ethnic group, the Yi. About your edits on the "Manchu People" page ---- I'm new here and don't know whether this is the correct way to reply your messages
[edit]Bodinmagosson (talk) 12:24, 12 May 2013 (UTC) Hej, I deleted some of your edits on the "Manchu People" page, because they are incorrect.
Taking Liaoning province as an example:
1 Fengcheng and Beizhen are both administrated under the same policies as the manchu autonomous counties, though they are both titled as "county-level city" rather than "autonomous county". This is not reflected in the picture nor the table.
2 There is a manchu autonomous township called "Lejia" in Pulandian, Dalian, however, this is not reflected by the picture or the table.
3 The picture says there are two towns/townships in Zhuanghe, while the table says there are four. I find only three in google map ---- Taipingling is a manchu autonomous township but is not listed in the table; Taling doesn't seem to be a manchu autonomous township; Gaoling is not found; Guiyunhua and Sanjiashan are there as the table suggested.
4 Why are the islands all coloured white?
5 The "Xibo" people you referred are better called "Sibe". This is my opinion because "Sibe" is the transliteraion of their name in their own language. "Xibo" is how the han chinese call them.
I'm just taking some examples to clarify that the information in the picture and the table is incorrect. More similar deficiencies might be found in the other part of Liaoning province and other provinces like Jilin and Hebei.
In fact, many regions in China are administrated under the ethnic autonomous policies but are not titled as "autonomous XXXX". Therefore, the title "autonomous XXXX" basically reflects nothing valuable. It is unnecessary to seek for the autonomous regions and show them in the pic or the table. That is why I suggest the pic and the table are removed.

- It is not reason to delete the maps. You can upload new correct version of this maps.--Kaiyr (talk) 12:29, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- THESE ARE reasons to delete the maps. I don't have new correct version of these maps, and am not interested in making them. The maps are not obligatorily requested there. The key point for a wiki page is to provide valid and referential information rather than confusing junks. In fact I was considering to remove the table as well, but I know someone spent time making it and didn't wanna to too mean. Please just refine your edits. -- (Bodinmagosson) (talk)
The article Cancer village in China has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no indication of WP:notability. Clusters of cancers appear the world over so there is nothing significant in this.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 11:42, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Ethnic groups in China
[edit]I noticed your work on ethnicity and demographics in China.
The historic homeland of Manchus is in Jilin province. The reason many of them are in Liaoning is due to migration, in fact during the Qing, it was Jilin which was designated as their homeland while Liaoning was populated by majority Han people. Many Manchus in Liaoning may also be descendants of Han bannermen who are allowed to register as Manchu.
I need an updated map for Pan-Mongolism. Dzungaria historically belonged to the Oirat Mongol Dzungar people and was included by Pan-Mongolists as part of "Greater Mongolia". The Yellow Region on this map needs to get added as one of the pink areas on this mapRajmaan (talk) 20:43, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! Last year, you signed up to participate in Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) 2016 on the English Wikipedia. The event was an international success, with hundreds of editors creating thousands of articles on Asian topics across dozens of different language versions of Wikipedia.
I'd like to invite you to join us for Wikipedia Asian Month 2017, which once again lasts through the month of November. The goal is for users to create new articles on Asian-related content, each at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words in length. Editors who create at least four articles will receive a Wikipedia Asian Month postcard!
Also be sure to check out the Wikipedia Asian Art Month affiliate event - creating articles on Asian art topics can get you a Metropolitan Museum of Art postcard!
If you're interested, please sign up here for the English Wikipedia. If you are interested in also working on other language editions of Wikipedia, please visit the meta page to see other participating projects. If you have any questions, please visit our talk page.

Hello, Kaiyr. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in India, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Karakalpaks tribes
[edit]The article I deleted, as well as being incoherent and lacking reliable references, did not add anything useful to the existing article Karakalpaks. If you choose to recreate it, I would recommend you do so in draft or preferably through Wikipedia:Articles for creation, where other contributors will help you to make it into a decent article (assuming there is enough material on the subject). [edit]Incomplete DYK nomination
[edit]Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Kuvandyk corridor at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; if you would like to continue, please link the nomination to the nominations page as described in step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 07:18, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
- Kaiyr, it has been a month and you still haven't transcluded this nomination. I've looked at the article, and it will require a great deal of work for it to be eligible for DYK: the bulk of the article is unsourced, and the writing is hard to understand and with a great number of spelling and other grammatical errors, including incomplete sentences. If you don't plan on doing significant work to address these issues in the next seven days, it would probably be best to let the nomination lapse. If I don't hear one way or the other in those seven days, I will close it as abandoned. Thank you for your interest in DYK. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:53, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

The article List of the most popular unisex names of Kazakhs of Kazakhstan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:LISTN, no evidence of notability for this statistic
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 07:56, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
