User talk:Nina Paley
Hello, I hope you don't mind my editing your user page here. There's general concern about self promotion, since that's where a lot of non-notable spam comes from -- and links to external sites are often an abuse of wikimedia userpages as a way to send traffic to one's own (usually commercial) website. Since your sites aren't commercial, and have a lot to say about your work and interest in free culture, that should be fine. But a general rule of thumb is that a user whose only contributions are a) about themselves and b) links to their websites elsewhere gets a cold welcome... even when those contribs are factual or artistic.
It would help the community understand what's going on if you spent a few dozen edits on elucidating a wikiProject for the upload process and what might come out of it. Something like this stub. Just edit a few drafts of your next blog post on the subject right there on commons, and this will help clarify who user:nina paley is for the wiki's editors. Cheers, +sj+ 15:15, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
A more generic welcome
