Inaccurate article section War Reserve Constables
[edit]It's been suggested I draw attention to this Talk:War reserve constable both on here and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Military_history in the hope someone with better skills and ideas than myself can sort out an inaccuate section (they says only 3 WRCs were killed 'in the line of duty' when that's clearly not the case. Many thanks to anyone willing to have a look! Rhillman (talk) 18:17, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Interestingly only two are listed at List of British police officers killed in the line of duty, which has some (overly) tight criteria for listing. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:24, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Chinese provincial Highway patrols?
[edit]When i visited sichuan a week ago i noticed some police cars were marked with "Sichuan Public Security Department Highway patrol" but i don't see much information on chinese provincial highway patrol agencies on wikipedia.
Can someone do some more digging into this subject?
I will upload the photo to wikimedia commons if more info is found on this topic
I also posted this on wikiproject China Thehistorianisaac (talk) 15:26, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Update:

Wikipedia articles on chinese law enforcement need help(and tonnes of new articles needed)
[edit]There are two pretty big problems with chinese law enforcement related articles.
- the people's police and Public Security Bureau have tonnes of overlapping information and also aren't really well at explaining their differences(The people's police are in charge of local public security bureaus(which are also under the administration of local goverments); People's police refers to all the public security bureaus as a whole while public security bureau is a term referring to local police departments); additionally, the "Equipment" and "ranks" section on the people's police article can also be added to the public security bureau article(or maybe local police articles if we ever have them). Photos of chinese police cars can also possibly be added to the public security bureau article.
- Lack of articles on local police departments; the only two local law enforcement agencies with articles on english wikipedia are Guangdong Public Security Department and Beijing Police department. Photos and information are also not lacking so i would suggest we begin to create/translate articles on more local police departments

- Even worse news:
- Wikimedia commons categories on chinese law enforcement have mixed up armed police and normal law enforcement. Thehistorianisaac (talk) 10:03, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
